The Harry Potter Song

Hi people reading this!

The other day my friend told me about these awesome dudes on www.youtube.com called the VLOGBROTHERS. One of the brothers is named Hank, and the other one is John Green, who is actually an author. He wrote Papertowns, Looking for Alaska, and some other books. I haven't read any of his books yet, but I will soon!

Anyways, these guys are like SUPER funny. Hank sang this one song in one of his videos called the Harry Potter Song. It's so awesome, in fact, that I've decided to put a link to it in this blog post. READY!!!

....
....
....

Okay, so I it isn't really working. But I'm assuming you all know how to find a video on youtube, so I'll link you to their page and you can scroll down through the uploads until you come to one that says HARRY POTTER SONG and then click on it. Got that?

LINK: www.youtube.com/users/vlogbrothers

IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!! *happy dance*

Hope you like it!,

False Alarm

Okay, so I woke up this morning and I was SOOO disappointed because the power was still on and there was less than a foot of snow on the ground! I was so mad. Well, at least we got some snow.... guess it's better than nothing.

Happy Birthday, Chris Daughtry!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS DAUGHTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I found out from his web/blog thing that today is Chris Daughtry's birthday. And, since you guys know (or should know) that I'm obsessed with him, I've decided to post it on my blog. I don't know how old he is turning, but it doesn't really matter. Happy Birthday, dude!

I hope you guys had a Merry Christmas and all that fun stuff. And if you don't celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a happy Hanukkah or a jolly Kwanzaa or a happy whatever-holiday-it-is-that-you-celebrate!

We are supposed to get around 18 inches of snow (in blizzard form) tonight where I live. So, if you don't here from me for a while it is because the power is out. Or it might just be because I am too lazy to post. Don't worry, I'll let you guys know!

Word of the Day!

So, I know I just posted a post about 5 minutes ago, but I just remembered something and I decided to post again.

There is this house down the road from my house where an old man lives, and he has this big sign that he can put words on and stuff. He always puts weird words that no one knows on there, and I always look them up. I think he changes it about once a month. So, from now on whenever he changes the sign I'll put the word down and what it means in a post. Today, the sign says:

QUINCUNX
Yes, it is very random. And the definition from www.dictionary.com is:
an arrangement of five objects, as trees, in a square or rectangle, one at each corner and one in the middle
Hmm... quite random.
Farewell,
Aceba
P.S. I don't know why I used different colored font in this post....I just felt like it.

Winter is here

It's the first day of winter! There is a little under an inch of snow on the ground where I live, but at least it's something! It snowed all night last night and into the morning. I'm so happy! It's also the shortest day if the year, whatever that means....

Yeah, so I'm home sick from school today. I just went to the doctor's and they said I have a sinus infection. This stinks....oh well! *blows nose* I guess I'll have a lot of time to read.

So, I know this was a short post, but that's *sneeze* okay, because today is the shortest *cough* day of the year!

I realize this last statement was corny.

The Sick,

Book Review: THE CHRONICLES OF VLADIMIR TOD

A few days ago I finished The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod by Heather Brewer.

It is such a great series! It has a total of five books in it, but they are all pretty short. The longest one is 290something pages, I think. But don't let that keep you from reading it! It's suspenseful and not like any other vampire story you've read or will ever read. So, read it!!!!!

Just letting you know, there is a HUGE twist at the end of the last book!!!!!

Rating: :0) :0) :0) :0) :0) I give the whole series a 5 out of 5 smileys!

Would I recommend it to a friend?: Of course!!! These books are awesome!!!!!

So......GO READ IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs,
Aceba

The Countdown

8 more days until Christmas! If you guys celebrate Christmas....

We haven't gotten any snow in my area, which is kind of disappointing. I like the snow, unlike a lot of people I know.....all of you Scrooges out there! Where's your holiday spirit? Get in the mood! I don't like to ski or snowboard (actually, I've never tried either, but I can just picture myself tumbling off the ski lift and down the mountain, so I think I'll just stay content snow-tubing!) but I do like to snow-shoe and hike in the snow. Not to mention having snowball fights, making forts and building snowmen.

It's, like, nearly IMPOSSIBLE to make a snowmen like the ones on TV and in movies and stuff! I can make the bottom ball, but then i can never make a circle the stays round when I try to lift it. Ugh...maybe this year....

Anyways, we are supposed to get snow this weekend in my area. At least, I think we are. The weather people on the news aren't saying anything specific. They're all like:

"Well, there MIGHT be a POSSIBILITY of SOME SORT OF PRECIPITATION in the future that JUST MIGHT be coming near this location."

Thanks. That's helpful.

So, yeah, we're all hoping for a snow day on Monday, but I doubt that will happen. But we can hope, right????

The hopeful,
Aceba

Global Warming

Okay, so I'm pretty sure I've brought up the topic of Global Warming before on this blog, but I'm now going to dedicate an entire post to this incredibly important topic. I've just finished a research project for my science class on Global Warming. We each had a country to research about. We had to find out basic knowledge about climate change as well as specific facts about the impact of Global Warming on my country.

The country that was randomly selected for me to research was Bangladesh. It's in Asia, for all of you who don't know- and I have to say, I had never even heard of this country before this project came about. And apparently, some pretty serious stuff is happening over there.

So let me share with you some facts about the world and Global Warming that I found particularly alarming.
  • A one-meter rise in sea level would cause Bangladesh to shrink in size by about 18%.
  • The United States, home of about 5% of the world's population, is responsible for approximately 36% of the total greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Concentrations of carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere are about 35% greater than before the Industrial Revolution. This is due mainly to human activity.
  • In 2003, heat waves caused 20,000 deaths in Europe and 1,500 deaths in India.
  • The number of category four and five hurricanes has just about doubled since the 1970s.

Kind of scary, isn't it??? What I'm trying to get across here is that we, the humans of Earth (at least I hope that's who is reading my blog!) need to reduce the amount of emissions we are constantly sending into our atmosphere. We need to- all together now:

"REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!!!!!"

That right. And I know it may sound corny, and I know you've probably heard it a million times before, but it's true. If we want to live in a world that doesn't have wars over water, or isn't destroyed by extreme cyclones and other tropical storms, or a world that doesn't have air and water that is heavily polluted, we need to act now. You heard me. NOW. Not later. Not in ten minutes. Not after you beat that high score on that vidoe game you're obsessed with. NOW!!!

So, if you're worried about our future here on Earth, or if you just feel the urge to make a difference, do it! Plant a tree! Shut off the lights and unplug electronics when you leave a room! Take shorter showers! Walk or ride a bike instead of driving or riding in a car! All of the little things can really add up. If you want, you can comment below this post and say what you pledge to do to help the environment. That would be cool. Thanks, people! The Earth will thank you too!

Going green(ish),

Aceba

Book Review: NINTH GRADE SLAYS

Ninth Grade Slays is the second book in The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod.

In this book, Henry's cousin, Joss, moves to the small town of Bathory. Vladimir and Joss quickly become friends. I can't give too much away, because that would ruin the book, but I will say that Otis does return to Vladimir and they have many adventures together. Don't worry- this book is just as great, humorous, suspenseful and heart-breaking as the first. You won't be disappointed!!!

Rating: :0) :0) :0) :0) :0) 5 out of 5 smileys
Would I recommend it to a friend?: Only if they have read the first book. If they haven't I would tell them to read it before they read this one. And if they said, "Ew! Vampires are SO STUPID!!!" Well, I'd force them to read it anyway, because this book isn't like any other vampire book. So THERE!!!!
For now,

December!!!!!!!!!!

Yay! It's December! 24 days until Christmas!!!

So, I had no homework AT ALL tonight! It feels so weird....but I'm not complaining. Anyways, since I have the time, I'd like to tell you guys about one of the best book series ever. It's Gone, by Michael Grant.

Gone is set in a town in California. One day, everyone older than 15 disappeared. The rest of the series is about the kids' lives in what they call the FAYZ. It's an awesome series. There are six books in the series: Gone, Hunger, Lies, Plague, Fear, and Light. So far, only the first three are out in stores. Plague comes out in the U.S. on April 5, 2011. Fear, which was originally names DARKNESS, comes out the year after, and Light completes the series and comes out after that. But listen to this:

Fear was supposed to be called Darkness, but the publishers couldn't find a way to make it fit on the cover. As a result, they made Michael Grant change the title. ISN"T THAT STUPID?!?!?!?!?

Here is Gone:

Yeah, so now that you know, you all need to go out and read it. Seriously!!!!!!

Do it!!!!!

Book Review: EIGHTH GRADE BITES

Eighth Grade Bites by Heather Brewer was a great quick read.

Okay, so all of you that think this book is 'goth', you are totally judging this book by it's cover! It's not. It's about this kid in eighth grade that is half-vampire, half-human. It's about his life in school. He struggles keeping his secret a secret, especially when his English teacher is missing and this crazy substitute steps in. His name is Mr. Otis, and he focuses on mythology. Anyways, this book is funny the whole way through and is suspenseful at the end. It's a very short book- only 186 pages- but it's so worth it! Read it, and you won't regret it!!!

Rating: :0) :0) :0) :0) :0) 5 out of 5 smileys
Would I recommend this to a friend?: Yeah, especially one with a good sense of humor.

Book Review: LINGER

Linger by Maggie Stiefvater is the sequel to Shiver. It was a great book, just as good as the first.

One of the new wolves, Cole, struggles with memories of his past. Grace rebels against her parents. The love between Grace and Sam grows throughout the book. A new theory is proposed regarding the future of Grace, Sam, and the wolves of Mercy Falls. If you enjoyed Shiver, this continuation will not let you down.

The end is a killer, though- it's such a huge cliffhanger!!! It's something you would never think of, something that makes you want to scream, "No! Everything was fine the way it was before!!!" The third and final book in this trilogy, Forever, comes out sometime in 2011. I can't wait!

Rating: :0) :0) :0) :0) :0) 5 out of 5 smileys. I loved it!

Would I recommend it to a friend?: Only if they've read Shiver, obviously.

Aceba

Harry Potter 7, Part 1

This morning I saw the first part of Harry Potter 7 in theaters. It was awesome! It ends on a climactic scene, but since I've read the books I know what happens. I'm really glad that they stuck to the book for most of it. I hope the second part is this good!

So, it's almost December! And the countdown to Christmas begins.....

UPDATE: I am almost done reading Linger, the sequel to Shiver. There is a third book coming out next year I think, called Forever. I will write a review as soon as I finish it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Okay, so I know that this is one day late, big whoop. Anyways, happy holidays, people!!! My Christmas Tree goes up today, and I've already decorated my bedroom. I hung tons of paper snowflakes from my ceiling with string and tape. It looks so cool!!!

It's Black Friday! All those crazy people getting up at midnight to get those toys that they just can't live without. Those silly crazies....

A few days ago I got the album Speak Now by Taylor Swift on my iPod. It's really good, so if you haven't gotten it yet and you're interested in that kind of stuff, you really should!!! Oh, and this weekend I'm going to see the Harry Potter movie. It better blow me away! hehe!

It's really rainy and wet and foggy and grey outside today. I'll just sit here and listen to Christmas music on the radio. Where I am there are about 4 stations that play Christmas music until Christmas!!! Yay! I love it!!!

So, I hope you guys enjoy your weekend!

Cheers,

Book Review: SHIVER

Last night I finished reading Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. This book was incredibly awesome!

This book is about seventeen year old Grace. She lives with her parents, but they aren't around most of the time and they don't pay any attention to her. Grace was bitten by the wolves in her backyard forest when she was younger, and ever since then she has been obsessed with this one wolf with yellow eyes. I can't really give anymore details, because that would be ruining the book for all of you, but this obsession with wolves leads to some pretty amazing stuff.
Shiver is suspenseful, super romantic, out of the box, touching, sad, heart-felt, and so much more. I loved this book, and the ending is SO AWESOME!!! I loved it!!!!!!

Rating: :0) :0) :0) :0) :0) 5 out of 5 stars

Would I recommend it to a friend?: Of course!

Harry Potter and Other Stuff....

Hey people!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to remind you all the in the U.S., Part 1 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie starts playing in theaters tomorrow!!!!

Okay, so here's a fact: If the sea level rises one meter, the country of Bangladesh will shrink by 18%.

So, you're asking yourself, how and why does she know this? Well, I have to do this global warming research project for my science class, and I had to focus on Bangladesh. So that's why you people should care about global warming!!! Recycle and try not to waste or use excess fossil fuels. Think about how many people will lose their homes if the sea level rises! Please, care about the Earth!!!!!!!

Anyways, Thanksgiving is next week in the U.S., and we all know what that means: FOOD!!!!! Yup, there will be plenty of pavo to go around. By the way, pavo means turkey in Spanish! I learned that earlier this week.

Yeah, so I have to study for me Algebra test tomorrow....yay for numbers!!!! *rolls eyes sarcastically* Let's just say that math isn't my favorite subject, but it isn't my least favorite subject, either. It's somewhere in the middle. Some days I like it, and some days.....well, I'd rather be rambling on and on to you guys about random stuff.

Moving on to last week's poll. 3 people agreed with me by saying that it would be okay, but not the greatest and that they'd deal with it. On the other hand, 2 people said that they would be outraged. I'm not sure what those results mean or if they even prove anything......and I'm okay with that! Thanks for voting!!!!!!

Ooh la la,
Aceba

Book Review: CITY OF THE BEASTS

Last week I finished City of the Beasts by Isabel Allende.

This book was about a boy named Alexander Cold, who goes to live with his adventurous grandmother, Kate. He can't stay at home with his family, because his mother is sick with cancer. Kate is hired to go to the Amazon and write an article about The Beast, a legendary Yeti. Alex meets a girl and they soon become friends, and then the group sets out for their journey.

I found this book to be very.....um....unique. It seemed very unrealistic, and it wasn't at all what I thought it would be. Some parts were suspenseful and interesting, while other moments were just dull and boring. Don't get me wrong, it was a good book...just not one of the best.

Rating: :0) :0) :0) Sorry, but I have to give it 3 out of 5 smileys.

Would I recommend it to a friend?: Well, that depends. I would probably give it to someone younger than me, but not TOO young, because there are some violent parts....hmm.....

Sorta disappointed,
Aceba

Book Review: WICKED GIRLS

Wicked Girls by Stephanie Hemphill takes place during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Seven girls, ranging in age from eight to eighteen years old, all pretend that they are constantly tortured by witches. They accuse people over and over of being witches, leading to many people being hanged and several others locked in prison. They have to work hard to keep their lie alive..

If you are into historical fiction or the Salem Witch Trials, this is the book for you. It is written 100% in poems, which makes it sort of confusing. It is also written in the way they would've talked back then, and there are some words that I had to look up in a dictionary. Overall, though, this was a really enjoyable read.

Rating: :0) :0) :0) :0) 4 out of 5 smileys

Would I recommend it to a friend?: Only to one who enjoys reading poetry. If you don't 'get' poetry, you might want to try another book.
Oh yeah,

Trans-Siberian Orchestra Concert

Last night I went to my 2nd Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert, and let me tell you, it was SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME!!! My mom and I had amazing seats. We were on the side but only 8 rows up from the floor, and we were so close to the stage! I got some awesome pictures! It was a great show!

So, today is a Monday. This week my school district has Thursday and Friday off. This is because Thursday is Veteran's Day and Friday is a professional developement day. In other words, the teachers have to sit in meetings all day and learn stuff while we get the day off. Of course, they make up for it by giving us double the homework. But, on the bright side, we have a FOUR DAY WEEKEND!!! Yay!!!!!

I don't really have anything else to write about.... I will be posting a book review or two soon, so that should be good.

Peace,
Aceba

Just Another Blog Post

Happy Friday, peeps! It's November, and I'm really busy from now until, like, January. Here are some things I'm looking forward to:
  • On Sunday I'm going to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. Don't know who they are? Look them up. I went to their concert last year, and it was so totally wicked AWESOME! Can't wait!!!
  • On the 19th the 1st part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (the 7th HP movie, in case you guys don't keep track) and I am SO SUPER-DUPER EXCITED!!!!!! I've read all the books and I've been waiting for this for a long time. Oh, I can't wait to see it in theaters!!
  • Thanksgiving. Duh! You get to eat tons of food, spend time with family, and we get a 5 day weekend!!! Who wouldn't look forward to it????
  • Christmas!!!!!!!!! I don't think I need to explain this one.

So, yeah. Today was a good day. My dad finally got around to taking the air conditioner out of my bedroom window. Of course, I have a lot of weekend homework- which I kind of don't understand, 'cuz what's the point of having days off from school if we have to do work?- but I'm trying to look past that and stay positive. Hope you guys (and when I say guys I mean all genders) had a great Friday and I hope you have a great weekend. If you don't have homework, I am extremely jealous and I really wish I was you right now. If you have homework, well, welcome to the club and I feel your pain.

I'm running out of closing phrases,

Aceba

It's Day of the Dead!

Happy Day of the Dead everyone!

Oh...wait, you don't know what that is?

Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday that I learned about last week in Spanish class. It's a day when Spanish people honor and remember their loved ones and friends that have passed away. They make offerings and light candles and eat lots of food to celebrate. To us, this may sound like a somber holiday, but it is actually a very happy one. People make candy sugar skeletons and carry bigs bundles of flowers along the streets and have parties and sit all night in graveyards. How cool does that sound?

By the way, you might have noticed the new picture and caption on the side bar there. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien is finally becoming a movie!!! You have NO idea how LONG I've been waiting for this! And I'm pretty sure Peter Jackson is directing it, which is AWESOME because he directed the other three Lord of the Rings movies too! I heard a rumor that it's supposed to be in 3D, but I'm not sure. he he he!!! Can't wait to see it in theaters in 2012!!!!

Before I forget: isn't this font cool???

Hugs,
Aceba

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I love Halloween, so I am dedicating this entire post to the spooky holiday!

I like Halloween because you can dress up and tell scary stories and get scared and scare others. But I do have to say, it's a LOT more fun scaring others....especially when those 'others' are your little brother's best friends!

My bedroom has been decorated with fake cobwebs for about a month now... it looks like I'll have to take them all down tomorrow! :( But then I can start decorating for Christmas, which is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE holiday!!!!

This is the first year ever that my family has not gone trick-or-treating. I have to admit, it's a little depressing. My mom said I'm too old to go now, but I think you're never too old to have fun!! And we totally missed the Snoopy Halloween special on TV!!!!!! We watch it every year, but this year we've been so busy with sports and school and stuff that we didn't catch it. Ugh! I'm so mad! I guess I'll just have to watch it on the Snoopy DVD we have in the closet...

So, everyone go out there and have fun tonight! Be safe (but not too safe- I mean, PLEASE remember to have fun!), have a great time and get lots of candy!!!

Oh, and one last thing......

BOO!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!

The Spooky,
Aceba

Book Review: THE SCORCH TRIALS

I just finished reading The Scorch Trials by James Dashner this morning, about one hour ago. This was an awesome book, and it really impressed me.

Thomas and the Gladers wake up in their new dormitory thinking that they are now safe and all will be well. But they soon find out that nothing is ever as it seems. Cranks start appearing at their barred windows, the 'lobby' (for loss of a better word) is rearranged in a horrid way, Teresa is nowhere to be found...well, that's just the start of all of their problems! This book was extremely suspenseful and intense. Tom's mixed emotions kept me on my toes as I flipped through the pages of this book, not wanting to waste one moment wondering what would happen next.

My only complaint is that it was a bit more gory and gruesome than I might have liked, but I have to admit that it made the book a lot more interesting. And when the characters were sick or starving or on the edge of death, it made me feel sympathetic, which in turn made me want to keep reading to see if their conditions would improve.

This was a great book- totally worth waiting for! Now, when will the next one be published? Hopefully soon!!!!!

Rating: :0) :0) :0) :0) :0) 5 out of 5 smileys

Would I recommend it to a friend?: Absolutely! But I would tell them to read the first book in the series first. It's called: The Maze Runner, also by James Dashner.

Hmm....what book should I read next?

Aceba

Book Review: THIS ISN'T WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

A few days ago I finished This Isn't What It Looks Like by Pseudonymous Bosch. This book is the fourth in the Secret Series. It was hilarious (as all of his books are) and it had me laughing at loud a ton!

In this book, Cass is stuck in a coma because she ate Time Chocolate. As Max-Earnest tries to figure out a cure, Cass travels mentally back in time to find her ancestor, the Jestor. Cass is surprised at what she finds on her journey, and at the very end of the book something happens that I totally didn't see coming.

I really liked this book! I love how P.B. writes it. It's as if he is having a conversation with you. There is going to be one last book in this series, which I think is coming out in about a year! Why does he make us wait so long????

Rating: :0) :0) :0) :0) Okay, so I'm only rating this book 4 out of 5 stars. Why, you ask? Well, it was a really great book, but the ending seemed like he never really finished the book. There is no real ending, no closing: it's like he just decided that he had to go to the bathroom so he just stopped writing. Other than that, I really don't have any complaints. Great read!

Would I recommend it to a friend?: Of course! Especially if you're looking for a good, long laugh!!! :0)

Yup,

Mondays...

Oh, the joy of waking up at six in the morning to your annoying alarm clock, only to realize that it is Monday. And we all know what that means: no more weekend, school, and homework. Don't get me wrong; I like school a lot. It's just that, sometimes......

Anyways, the point I am trying to make is that it's Monday, and I don't know anyone who likes Mondays. If you do, please comment below. Thanks!

After school today I went with my mom and dad to Staples to get a new color printer. Let me tell you, it took FOREVER because 1) there are way too many options 2) my family has a hard time making decisions and 3) there was this young tech-guy working there that was yakking our ears off and trying to persuade us to buy this one specific printer. He said- and I'm serious about this- that its ink cartridges were "beasts" because you could get so many sheets printer using only one cartridge. I had to stifle my laughter by biting on the cuff of my sweatshirt. Ha ha!

I finished This Isn't What It Looks Like by P.B. yesterday, and it was really good! I would post a review today, but unfortunately it is Monday and it just isn't going to happen. Please try to understand and thanks for being patient!

TTYL!!!!

Estoy cansada,
Aceba

P.S. For those of you that don't text much (or don't get out much, either one), ttyl means 'talk to you later'.

P.S.S. For those of you that aren't Spanish or that are too lazy to learn the awesome language, estoy cansada means 'I am tired'.

P.S.S.S. I forgot to mention this, but we did actually end up buying the printer that that guy was trying to sell us. Gosh, we are so gullible!!!!!!!

TGIF

For all of you who don't know what that means, it stands for THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY. Really. If there was one more day added on to the normal school week, I think I would go insane. (Just kidding, but how horrible would that be?)

Anyways, sorry I haven't posted in a few days...this week was SO busy! I had tons of homework (particuarly in science- thank you, my lovely science teacher!) and a cross country meet along with my usual stuff- dance two nights and a night with a violin lesson. Yesterday was the last cross country practice until next year, and I'm really sad. I have a huge state meet tomorrow, and then it's over! :( The good part about cross country ending is that I'll have a lot more time after school to do homework and to update this blog, so you should be hearing more from me!

Next, I wanted to talk about the poll I posted on here about a week ago. I looked at the results, and only 2 people have voted. And, considering that the 2 people are my brother and I (he hates Daughtry, and I L-O-V-E him) that's pretty pathetic. Listen up, people! I don't know how many of you actually read and follow this thing, but why can't you take the time to answer a simple question??? I gave you plenty of answers!!!!! In the future, PLEASE TAKE MY POLLS!!!

BOOK UPDATE: So far I am on page 124 out of 360 pages in The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. Let me tell you, it is SO AWESOME! A bit gory and gruesome, but still great! It's a good book to read around Halloween time.

Just a last thought before I end this post: My mom and I were walking across a parking lot today and I saw this weird, skinny tree next to our parking space. There were these little red balls all scattered underneath it. When I asked her what it was, she said it was most likely an ornamental crab-apple tree. Isn't that the most randomest thing ever? Who would ever think of planting an ornamental crab-apple tree in a parking lot? I laughed when she said that. Ha Ha! Still laughing!!! :0)

Talk to you later!!!!!

Still giggling,
Aceba

They Finally Arrived!!!!!!!!!!!

YAAAAYYYY!!!!!!

I was SO happy when I came home from cross-country practice this afternoon and found out that the two books I ordered a week ago online (from www.barnesandnoble.com) had finally arrived. I ordered The Scorch Trials by James Dashner and This Isn't What It Looks Like by Pseudonymous Bosch. You'll notice that these two books titles are on my list of books I want to read in my The Waiting Room page in this blog. I have been waiting to read them for what seems like all of FOREVER, so I am SOOOO happy that they finally came!!!!!!!

Now......which one should I read first???

I think I will read The Scorch Trials first, since my friend has already read it and I really want to talk to her about it, only I can't because I haven't read it yet. But I won't be in that predicament for long...

Anyways, I'll try to write a review as soon as I finish it, or whenever I have time to. I am REALLY busy, but this week is the last week in my school for fall sports after school, so next week I will have more time to read and post on this blog.

Until next time,

A Change of Plans

Okay, so I originally planned on making this blog a book review blog- you know, a place for me to review on the great (or incredibly horrible) books I have read. Well, there has been a change of plans. After posting two book reviews I realized: if I keep up like this my blog will become one of the main sources of death-by-boredom in America. SO, I have made a decision to not only post things about books but also about my life. I will not use details such as my age, address, real name or other things like that that stalkers might use to track me down.

And for the record, I am not spanish and Aceba isn't my real name: I just like learning spanish in school and Aceba is the name I go by in Spanish class.

I hope you all approve of my decision. I don't know who I am talking to when I say this (Do I even have any followers?) but I don't care!

Anyways, if you're out there and you're reading this, I really appreciate it! Thanks!

The Amazing,

Book Review: LOCK AND KEY

A few days ago I finished reading Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen. My friend recommended this book to me. She is obsessed with Sarah Dessen and said that she was an amazing author. I had never read any of her books before, so I decided to give it a try.

This book is about a seventeen year old girl named Ruby. Ruby and her mother have been living in a yellow house for quite some time. They are unresponsible when it comes to paying bills, due to the fact the Ruby's mother does drugs. One day Ruby wakes up and her mother is gone, without a note saying where she was going or anything. After a few months of living on her own someone finally finds out that Ruby's mother is gone and sends her off to live with her older sister and her husband. Her sister's name is Cora and she hasn't seen her in ten years. Ruby has a tough time adjusting to her knew life, home and school at first, but with the help of the boy next door, Nate, she somehow seems to be alright. Nate seems perfect on the outside, but Ruby soon realizes that nothing is ever what it seems.
This book is very touching and the ending is really unexpected, but I wouldn't have it any other way. My friend was so right- Sarah Dessen is a great author that pulls you into the story. I really felt like I could relate to Ruby, and after a while of reading it's hard to believe that Ruby is just a character in a fiction novel. I loved this book and will be reading another one of Sarah Dessen's books soon!

Would I recommend it to a friend?: Absolutely!!!

Book Review: FANG by James Patterson

Just recently I finished reading Fang by James Patterson. This is the sixth book in the Maximum Ride series.

Whoa. Let me start of by saying that the whole series has been amazing so far. James Patterson is an incredibly talented author and this series has kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

This book had many twists and turns, some so unexpected that I actually had to stop reading and say, "Wait-what just happened?" The action never stops in this sci-fi adventure about a flock of genetically altered avian-human mutant kids. It is an incredible story and if you have never read any book of the Maximum Ride series I urge you to run to your town library or the nearest bookstore and grab yourself a copy of one of them. I have to warn you though- I actually started to cry at the end!!!

Would I reccomend it to a friend? : Heck ya!!! This book rocks!
