The Harry Potter Song
The other day my friend told me about these awesome dudes on www.youtube.com called the VLOGBROTHERS. One of the brothers is named Hank, and the other one is John Green, who is actually an author. He wrote Papertowns, Looking for Alaska, and some other books. I haven't read any of his books yet, but I will soon!
Anyways, these guys are like SUPER funny. Hank sang this one song in one of his videos called the Harry Potter Song. It's so awesome, in fact, that I've decided to put a link to it in this blog post. READY!!!

Okay, so I it isn't really working. But I'm assuming you all know how to find a video on youtube, so I'll link you to their page and you can scroll down through the uploads until you come to one that says HARRY POTTER SONG and then click on it. Got that?

Happy Birthday, Chris Daughtry!
Yeah, I found out from his web/blog thing that today is Chris Daughtry's birthday. And, since you guys know (or should know) that I'm obsessed with him, I've decided to post it on my blog. I don't know how old he is turning, but it doesn't really matter. Happy Birthday, dude!
I hope you guys had a Merry Christmas and all that fun stuff. And if you don't celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a happy Hanukkah or a jolly Kwanzaa or a happy whatever-holiday-it-is-that-you-celebrate!
We are supposed to get around 18 inches of snow (in blizzard form) tonight where I live. So, if you don't here from me for a while it is because the power is out. Or it might just be because I am too lazy to post. Don't worry, I'll let you guys know!
Hugs,

Word of the Day!
There is this house down the road from my house where an old man lives, and he has this big sign that he can put words on and stuff. He always puts weird words that no one knows on there, and I always look them up. I think he changes it about once a month. So, from now on whenever he changes the sign I'll put the word down and what it means in a post. Today, the sign says:
Winter is here
Yeah, so I'm home sick from school today. I just went to the doctor's and they said I have a sinus infection. This stinks....oh well! *blows nose* I guess I'll have a lot of time to read.
So, I know this was a short post, but that's *sneeze* okay, because today is the shortest *cough* day of the year!
I realize this last statement was corny.

Book Review: THE CHRONICLES OF VLADIMIR TOD
It is such a great series! It has a total of five books in it, but they are all pretty short. The longest one is 290something pages, I think. But don't let that keep you from reading it! It's suspenseful and not like any other vampire story you've read or will ever read. So, read it!!!!!
Just letting you know, there is a HUGE twist at the end of the last book!!!!!
Rating: :0) :0) :0) :0) :0) I give the whole series a 5 out of 5 smileys!
Would I recommend it to a friend?: Of course!!! These books are awesome!!!!!
So......GO READ IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs,

The Countdown
We haven't gotten any snow in my area, which is kind of disappointing. I like the snow, unlike a lot of people I know.....all of you Scrooges out there! Where's your holiday spirit? Get in the mood! I don't like to ski or snowboard (actually, I've never tried either, but I can just picture myself tumbling off the ski lift and down the mountain, so I think I'll just stay content snow-tubing!) but I do like to snow-shoe and hike in the snow. Not to mention having snowball fights, making forts and building snowmen.
It's, like, nearly IMPOSSIBLE to make a snowmen like the ones on TV and in movies and stuff! I can make the bottom ball, but then i can never make a circle the stays round when I try to lift it. Ugh...maybe this year....
Anyways, we are supposed to get snow this weekend in my area. At least, I think we are. The weather people on the news aren't saying anything specific. They're all like:
"Well, there MIGHT be a POSSIBILITY of SOME SORT OF PRECIPITATION in the future that JUST MIGHT be coming near this location."
Thanks. That's helpful.
So, yeah, we're all hoping for a snow day on Monday, but I doubt that will happen. But we can hope, right????
The hopeful,

Global Warming
The country that was randomly selected for me to research was Bangladesh. It's in Asia, for all of you who don't know- and I have to say, I had never even heard of this country before this project came about. And apparently, some pretty serious stuff is happening over there.
So let me share with you some facts about the world and Global Warming that I found particularly alarming.
- A one-meter rise in sea level would cause Bangladesh to shrink in size by about 18%.
- The United States, home of about 5% of the world's population, is responsible for approximately 36% of the total greenhouse gas emissions.
- Concentrations of carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere are about 35% greater than before the Industrial Revolution. This is due mainly to human activity.
- In 2003, heat waves caused 20,000 deaths in Europe and 1,500 deaths in India.
- The number of category four and five hurricanes has just about doubled since the 1970s.
Kind of scary, isn't it??? What I'm trying to get across here is that we, the humans of Earth (at least I hope that's who is reading my blog!) need to reduce the amount of emissions we are constantly sending into our atmosphere. We need to- all together now:
"REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!!!!!"
That right. And I know it may sound corny, and I know you've probably heard it a million times before, but it's true. If we want to live in a world that doesn't have wars over water, or isn't destroyed by extreme cyclones and other tropical storms, or a world that doesn't have air and water that is heavily polluted, we need to act now. You heard me. NOW. Not later. Not in ten minutes. Not after you beat that high score on that vidoe game you're obsessed with. NOW!!!
So, if you're worried about our future here on Earth, or if you just feel the urge to make a difference, do it! Plant a tree! Shut off the lights and unplug electronics when you leave a room! Take shorter showers! Walk or ride a bike instead of driving or riding in a car! All of the little things can really add up. If you want, you can comment below this post and say what you pledge to do to help the environment. That would be cool. Thanks, people! The Earth will thank you too!
Going green(ish),

December!!!!!!!!!!
So, I had no homework AT ALL tonight! It feels so weird....but I'm not complaining. Anyways, since I have the time, I'd like to tell you guys about one of the best book series ever. It's Gone, by Michael Grant.
Gone is set in a town in California. One day, everyone older than 15 disappeared. The rest of the series is about the kids' lives in what they call the FAYZ. It's an awesome series. There are six books in the series: Gone, Hunger, Lies, Plague, Fear, and Light. So far, only the first three are out in stores. Plague comes out in the U.S. on April 5, 2011. Fear, which was originally names DARKNESS, comes out the year after, and Light completes the series and comes out after that. But listen to this:
Fear was supposed to be called Darkness, but the publishers couldn't find a way to make it fit on the cover. As a result, they made Michael Grant change the title. ISN"T THAT STUPID?!?!?!?!?
Yeah, so now that you know, you all need to go out and read it. Seriously!!!!!!
Do it!!!!!
